Pier-Tech Walk In Dome Observatories, and Add On Dome Observatories are fabricated in our Bartlett, IL facility. All of our dome observatories use Galvalume as a standard material. Galvalume is a steel sheet that is coated with an aluminum-zinc material, making it corrosion resistant.

Pier-Tech Inc. is the only dome manufacturer in the world to offer a metal dome in 31 different colors. Our standard color is Satin Finish Galvalume, which is a silvery color that is very pleasing to the eye. See our color chart for the other available colors. We also offer our dome observatories in a Stainless Steel version for superior corrosion resistance.

• Contactor bars which provide current to shutter motor are available. This option eliminates the need to bring the dome to the home position in order to power the upper shutter motor. With this option, you will be able to power the upper shutter motor at any azimuth position of the dome.
